 Jeans were made in Europe. The material, called jean was named after sailors from Genoa in 
Italy, because they wore clothes made from it. In the 18th century jean cloth was made completely from 
cotton and workers at that time loved wearing it because the material was very strong and it did wear 
out easily. Jeans have become more and more popular for years. Not only workers have worn jeans but 
a large of people -young and old alike-have enjoyed wearing jeans as well. People have made different 
styles of jeans to match the fashions in this century. Famous designers started making their own styles 
of jeans with own labels on their jeans so Jeans became high fashion clothing n the 1980s. Today 
people like wearing jeans, especially university and college students in the cities.

 Reading 2:
 Ao Dai is a traditional dress in Vietnam. It's also a symbol of the Vietnamese feminine beauty, 
and the pride of the Vietnamese people. Whenever you hear about Vietnam, definitely you will hear 
about Ao Dai. Differently from kimono or hanbok, Ao Dai is worn in many occasions, not only 
traditional cases. It is used at work or at school as uniform. It is also worn to go out or to be in fashion 
shows. Especially in wedding, it is worn with a kind of hat. Ao Dai is a unique design which both 
respectful and charming. The material is silk, so the body is inside the soft material which makes 
women become more feminine. The beauty of women dressed in “Ao Dai”always leaves a deep 
impression on foreign visitors to Vietnam. Girl students dressed in white long robes take to streets on 
the way to schools or back home, or gracefully sail on their bikes along streets seem very wonderful.
