I. Công thức 
1. Với động từ BE 
 a. Thể khẳng định 
 S +am/is/are +adj/noun 
I am 
He/She/ It + is . 
You/We/You/They + are + .. 
E.g: I am a student. 
 They are tall. 
 b. Thể phủ định 
 S+ am/is/ are + not + adj/noun 
I am not  = I’m not  
He/ She/It + is not + . = He/She/It + isn’t + . 
You/We/You/They + are not+ . = You/We/You/They + aren’t + 
E.g: He isn’t a doctor. 
 They aren’t fat. 
 c. Thể nghi vấn 
 Is/Are + S + adj/noun? 
 Yes, S+ am/is/are. 
 No, S + am/is/are + not 
Is + he/she /it + adj/noun? Yes, he/she/it +is. / No, he/she/it + isn’t. 
Are + you/we/you/they + adj/noun? Yes, you/we/you/they + are. / No, you/we/you/they 
+ aren’t. 
E.g: Is he happy? Yes, he is. 
 Are they workers? No, they aren’t. 
2. Với động từ thường 
 a. Thể khẳng định 
 S + V/ Vs/es + O 
I/ You/ We/You/ They + V + O 
He/ She/ It + Vs/es + O 
 Lưu ý: Cách thêm s/es vào động từ 
- Đa số các trường hợp ta them s vào sau động từ 
E.g: Swim swims , run runs, jog jogs 
- Ta thêm es vào các động từ tận cùng bằng: O, S, X, CH, SH 
E.g: do does, pass passes, fix fixes, watch watches, wash washes 
 - Các động từ tận cùng bằng một phụ âm cộng với y đổi Y thành I rôi thêm ‘es’ 
E.g: study -> studies, carry carries, fly flies 
 - Các động từ tận cùng bằng nguyên âm cộng với y giữ nguyên thêm s 
E.g: play plays, stay stays 
 - Động từ have has
